What is Keep Waco Beautiful and how is it funded?


Keep Waco Beautiful is a 501(c)3 nonprofit specializing in environmental conservation. Our Mission is to “Make Waco a more beautiful, safer and cleaner place to live, work and play,” Our Operation fund primarily comes from the City of Waco Solid Waste Department. Other expenses for events and supplies comes from fundraising, membership, and donations. All donations are a tax write off.




How can I volunteer and what events are available?


Check out our Signup.com button located ____________ and review the events posted. Each of our events are “Kid Friendly” but we ask that if a minor is present, that legal guardian sign off for each.




How can I become a member of Keep Waco Beautiful and what are the benefits for joining ?


There are several levels of membership: 1. $35 Individual- Receive a membership card with discounted offers for local businesses and nurseries that support our mission. You’ll receive bi-monthly newsletters with up-to-date information. 2. $50 family- All of the same perks as individual but will receive recognition on our website for donating. 3. $100 Patron- All of the same perks as the family and individual but will 1 free ticket to our annual Fundraiser. 4. $200 Benefactor- All the same perks Individual, Family and Patron but will receive 2 free tickets to our annual Fundraiser. 5. $500 Sturgis Life- This is a one time GENEROUS donation. You will get all of the same perks as the other levels of membership and will be recognized on all of our media newsletters, advertising and website.




How does a business membership work and where can I join?


1. $75 Nonprofit Business- Your logo and link will be added to our website and you’ll have 1 opportunity for a partnership with KWB. 2. $150 Small Business (1-5 employees)- Your logo and link will be added to our website. You’ll have the opportunity to share 2 events per year in our newsletter with your logo represented. 3. $200 Business (5-59 employees)- Your logo and link will be added to our website. You’ll have the opportunity to share 4 events per year in our newsletter with your logo represented and will have the opportunity to have a booth at 1 of our events. 4. $250 Corporate Business (60+ employees)- Your logo and link will be added to our website. You’ll have the opportunity to share 6 events or blurbs in our newsletter with your logo represented. Your business name will automatically go into nominations for Business of the Month and you will have an opportunity to have a booth at 2 of our events.




How do i find out when my district cleanup is going to take place?


Each event will be posted on the KWB Volunteer page on our website.




How do I find out what district I live in?

What types of materials can I put out during my districts Bulky & Brush pickup?


Acceptable Items to be placed on the curb for your Saturday’s Pickup: Bagged or boxed trash, Unusable furniture, Mattresses/box springs, broken or old toys and swing sets, unrepairable items (Bicycles, BBQ grills), bagged grass, leaves, plant trimmings, tree branches and bushes.




How do I RSVP participation and put in my request for volunteers?


Once you receive your postcard in the mail, call the office to put your address on the list for pickup: 254-339-1077. If you are ELDERLY and DISABLED, you have the option to request volunteers when you call to RSVP for participation.




I just moved to Waco, how can I get a recycling cart and where can I take my recycling in the meantime?


You can call the City of Waco Solid Waste services and request a free recycling cart or visit their website and fill out the form: http://waco.coffeecup.com/forms/Solid%20Waste%20Carts/ While you wait for your delivery, you can take any amount of common household recyclable items to Cobbs Recycling Center: 2021 N 44th St, Waco, TX 76710. Hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday 8-5pm.




I recycle more than I throw away, is there a charge for an extra recycling cart?


NO CHARGE!! You can request an additional BLUE & GREEN CART free of charge. If you need an extra trash cart (GRAY) there is a $4 fee that will be billed each month. Call Solid Waste or request an additional RECYCLING cart by filling out their form online: http://waco.coffeecup.com/forms/Solid%20Waste%20Carts/
