Discover 10 standout upcycled sculptures crafted by talented youth artists across Waco. Each piece reflects the theme Our Water, Our Future: Creating Beauty from Waste and was selected by a committee from 48 submissions. The sculptures will be displayed throughout the city from March 22 through April 25, watch for location announcements and plan your visit to see them all!
A Break for The Brazos
Artists: Midway ISD GATE III, ages 13-14
Description: Suspension Bridge art showing a polluted river vs. a clean one to support Keep Waco Beautiful.
Materials: Cardboard, paper packing sheets, paper towel rolls, string, magazines, plastic water bottles, and other craft materials.

Artist: Mabry, age 16
Description: A local dragonfly representing the organisms supported by our waterways.
Materials: Broken umbrella, plastic bags, card board, water bottles, plastic lids, yarn, clear plastic wrapping, and chip bags.

Fish Out of Water
Artist: Joshua, age 12
Description: A crappie fish made from upcycled metal leaps from a tea kettle in this sculpture.
Materials: Recycled metal pieces including a tea kettle, soda cans, washers, drawer pulls, upcycled water bottles, and cardboard.

Artists: Avery and Brooklyn, ages 12 & 11
Description: A bottle with plastic waste surrounding it to show how quickly pollution changes an ecosystem.
Materials: Cardboard, plastic bottle, aluminum foil, hot glue, popsicle sticks, beads, cotton balls, pipe cleaners, paint, lids, and paper.

Description: Clean water grows beauty; polluted water harms it. Keep Waco’s water clean.
Materials: Water bottles, egg cartons, paper towel rolls, bottle caps, metal soda tabs, plastic bags, construction paper, straws, pipe cleaners, wooden sticks, rocks, plastic container, and newspapers.

Description: My art piece is a water tower wish fish coming out of any swimming around it.
Materials: Aluminum cans, plastic containers, paint, fabric, shells, fishing line, wire, and aluminum foil.
